SAC Meeting Minutes
October 5, 2009
Meeting called to order at 6:00 PM.
Those in attendance: April Day, Mary White, Mary Yudin, Cheryl Jordan, Pat Houston, Patty Henderson, Betsy Gunderson, Tracy McIntyre, Michelle Muniz, Sonia Amaya, Wachera Ragland
Excused Absence: Chandra Taylor
September minutes were distributed for review. A motion was made to approve the minutes with correction, Mrs. Gunderson seconded the motion.
Mrs. White presented a RtI (Response to Intervention) power point. Mrs. White explained this is a data oriented process to improve the achievement and social behavior of a student. For more information: FloridaRtI.usf.org
SAC Bi-laws were reviewed. Motions to amend Article 4, Section 3 and Article 5, Officers, Section 2 were made by Mrs. Henderson and seconded by Mrs. Yudin.
The Article 4 Section 3 allows for election of officers to be at the first SAC meeting of the academic year. The Article 5 Officers Section 2 amendments allows for excused absences to have a proxy vote.
Non Agenda Items discussed: Improving the JDP website, involvement of safety patrol for the Holiday Parade.
Discussion of the School Improvement Program was tabled until the November meeting.
Mrs. White praised Mrs. Day for her dedication and hard work of the folder that earned JDP another 5-Star Commendation.
Mrs. White also informed the SAC of the Volunteers for the Year award.
